You're still sleeping well, thank goodness. Mama decided y'all needed earlier bedtimes so you go to sleep around 8:30 now. Yea! And you still take two naps everyday--one usually longer than the other.
You're still cuddly, which I love. And smiley and you laugh more. You're generally a happy baby but do have a temper. When you want something, you want it now. If you can't have it or it gets taken from you? Man, oh man. The red-haired gene comes out.
Speaking of, I think your hair is getting a little longer and thicker. And you seem to be starting to thin out a little or maybe you're just stretching. You still have those awesome chubby thighs that I love to squeeze. A woman who saw you while we were out shopping commented on your cute feet. Generally, all the ladies and even some men talk to me about you or talk to you or say what a cute baby you are. They're right, of course.
This month has been kind of big. You wave now. And you clapped once. You give high fives. And just when I thought I was going to give up on you, you started crawling. That was on Mother's Day. Good timing, boy. You've gotten quite good at it and can pull yourself up. You cruise a little bit but are no where near crawling. But yea! You're mobile. I know you're a little late at getting started but I'd like to thank you for that. I wasn't ready earlier.
With mobility has come a few accidents. You fall down, bump your head, etc. But last Monday you took your first bad spill. You, your sister, and I were sitting on the couch. You were crawling towards the arm of the couch and Mama couldn't get to you in time. I screamed when I missed catching your leg and screamed again we you went headfirst into the hardwoods. Sigh. You cried and cried and cried. You had a goose egg on your forehead, a couple drops of blood out of your nose, and a few by your newest top tooth. But you were fine. I'm glad I had that happen with your sister. Her fall wasn't as bad as yours so it broke me in a little bit.
You love water and are going to start swimming lessons this summer. And hitting the table top with your hand (or when someone else does it) makes you laugh. You like to be upside down. You generally don't spend much time in the exersaucer. You prefer to be mobile now. But you do like the swing. Your grandparents took you and your sister to the children's museum this month. I think you both really enjoyed it. I'm glad they live close to us so y'all can spend lots of time together.
We ended the month with Mama going out of town for work. I saw you before bed on Monday and didn't get home until midnight on Friday. It was a long week, and I missed y'all. I hope one day you have a job that fulfills you. It's pretty hard to come by, and I'm not sure mine does. But whatever you do, be good at it. Try your best and that will be better than most. I also hope you have a satisfying personal life. And give me grandbabies. It's going to be a long time between snuggling you and snuggling them. I'll try to make it.
