10 on tuesday (2)

Apparently I'm taking this 10 on Tuesday thing as just a suggestion. The topic this week was something about political figures, and I don't really have it in me to make that list. I'm making my own topic (inspired by Geek).

10 Movies That Make Me Cry
  1. The Notebook
  2. Pay It Forward (This one had me sobbing even after it was over--never good.)
  3. Stepmom
  4. Garden State (both because of grief and happiness)
  5. Titanic (I know, I can hear the collective groan.)
  6. My Girl
  7. Steel Magnolias (Why do so many movies kill people off?)
  8. Schindler's List (I have no desire to see this movie a second time...)
  9. The Pianist (but yet can't get away from the Holocaust.)
  10. City of Angels (Who thought going to see that would be better than studying for finals?!?!?)

Some of these will make me cry even though I've seen them a million times (like Stepmom). I love it when movies or television shows make me feel, whether it's elated or stressed or melancholic. Sign of a good writer (or an easily-influenced viewer). I'm sure there are others that I've forgotten. What are they?

I always get emaotional (I won't say cry because I'm a man) for movies like "Lord of the Rings" or "Rudy". I feel it for the accomplishment and overcoming obsticles more than the sap. If you want to really talk crying though; "Extreme Makeove: Home Edition" goes beyond any movie ever made.

The Brother
I cry at movies all the time. But this is a good idea - I'll post my 10 for Tuesday Movies That Make Me Cry on my blog! Some of yours I'll have to use, of course (like Titanic).....

Ladder 49 made me cry. So very sweet...so very sad. And Dreamer...my favorite line is 'I love the stupid king.' I think your number 1 choice is the biggest boo hoo movie ever! I didn't just shed a tear...or even a few. I sobbed.

Um, seeing City of Angels was better than studying for finals. It left us slightly more weepy, though.

You can add Philadelphia and The Green Mile to that list.
