a few thoughts

I'm sitting here eating lunch and I ordered hot soup and iced tea in the same meal. Do you think that ever happens up north? I'm guessing no.

Also? While sitting on the patio eating and drinking the above items, I'm hearing my first Christmas song of the season. Two things. 1) This is later than last year. I mean, come on, it's mid-November. Perhaps next year they'll actually wait till an appropriate time. Yeah, I don't think they will either. And 2), I'm able to sit outside comfortably and listen to Christmas music. I think there's something wrong with that, too.

I only wish we could sit outside and listen to Christmas music. They are calling for snow tomorrow night into Sunday.

Yeah, our "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" doesn't mean snow. Just tacky mall decorations... But KatieS, if it makes you feel better it's going to get close to freezing here this weekend.

As my youngest child constantly sings Christmas songs -- mostly with goofy lyrics -- it's always too soon for them.

hey, would you like to see the nursery?

After a very productive week/weekend, the nursery is just about done. I think the only thing I want to do is whip up a simple padded headboard and Hubby needs to trim down the legs on a little footstool. That's it! Finally! So without further ado... This is what you see when you walk in the door. Too bad the baby won't be able to appreciate it right away. (And I'll apologize right off the bat for having some wonky-colored photographs in this post. I just don't have the energy to fix things. At least on my monitor, the above pic is roughly true-to-life.) Would you like to see that awesome rug a little better? Man, I love it. It was the one splurge for the room but it has such great colors, fun animals and designs, and is round. All my criteria were met. Love. Here's the corner with the crib.
