10 on tuesday (1)

Yeah, on Wednesday. How did I miss Tuesday? I was awake for almost its entirety. Anyway, this week's topic is:

10 Things You Like to Do Alone

  1. Read
  2. Drive
  3. Travel
  4. Watch embarrassingly cheesy reality TV shows
  5. Craft
  6. Paint (walls, furniture, canvases)
  7. Eat a full order of dessert
  8. Go to the museum
  9. Take pictures
  10. Sit on the porch

Some of these things I like to do with other people, too. Probably the thing I enjoy the most on that list is #8. I love going to the Museum of Fine Arts in the middle of a workday. I don't get the opportunity to do that very often but maybe I should try to work it in. I like it because of all the beautiful art, because it's always the perfect temperature and humidity, and because it's quiet. I love the sound of only my feet hitting the wood floors. I love turning the corners through the maze of walls only to find yet another empty room. I love the sneakiness of not being "productive" during a workday. It's great.

I must say that when I saw this topic it made me think of Sex and the City and secret single behavior. I'll have you know that I do not stare at my pores for an hour every night. Wow, would that make me depressed. What do you like to do alone?

Whenever Bryan goes out of town and I have the place to myself, I always give myself a pedicure. I don't know why. It's not like he restricts me from doing it when he's here, but it just seems like a girly alone-time thing to do.

That, and clean. Cuz I know it will still be clean when I wake up in the morning! And when I get home from work! Amazing, really. So is the boring life of a married gal. Sigh.

I was going to try to post a "Ten on Tuesday" list on my blog this week, but I could only come up with a few things I like to do alone: 1) nap, 2) bathe, and 3) poop. I guess I just don't do much by myself....and when I am by myself, I'm usually doing one of those three things!

hey, would you like to see the nursery?

After a very productive week/weekend, the nursery is just about done. I think the only thing I want to do is whip up a simple padded headboard and Hubby needs to trim down the legs on a little footstool. That's it! Finally! So without further ado... This is what you see when you walk in the door. Too bad the baby won't be able to appreciate it right away. (And I'll apologize right off the bat for having some wonky-colored photographs in this post. I just don't have the energy to fix things. At least on my monitor, the above pic is roughly true-to-life.) Would you like to see that awesome rug a little better? Man, I love it. It was the one splurge for the room but it has such great colors, fun animals and designs, and is round. All my criteria were met. Love. Here's the corner with the crib.
