10 Songs That Make Me Sad

I guess I'm taking a little liberty with this topic. All of these songs have made me tear up (or really cry depending on the day). I guess I'd rather the topic be "songs that make me emotional." Here goes:
  1. Dixie Lullaby by Pat Green--This song came out about when this was happening. Add to that my own personal story and you get a tearjerker of a song. I love it, though.

  2. I'll Wait for You by Joe Nichols--This song was apparently sung by Joe at Anna Nicole's funeral. Try to get beyond that.

  3. Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol--Yes, it's because of Grey's Anatomy. When all that was happening with Denny...oh my gosh, sobbing. I don't cry when I hear it anymore but it always sends me back to Izzie coming down in the elevator, looking beautiful, with the future in her eyes.

  4. Almost anything by Johnny Cash in his later years. He just had such a soulful voice. Not soul like the genre. Soul like he was a man of God (I'm not even a religious person and I can hear it.) Danny Boy really kills me. You can watch Hurt here.

  5. Skin by Rascal Flatts--Cheesy, yes, but it still gets me.

  6. I Loved Her First by Heartland--Good grief. I heard this one the first time at my cousin's wedding. It was her father/daughter dance. I was doing ok until I looked across the dance floor and saw my other cousin crying. She, too, lost her father when she was a child. Yeah, my welled-up tears overfloweth.

  7. Hero by Enrique Iglesias--One of the local radio stations did a montage thing to this song after 9-11. I think about that every time I hear it.

That's all I've got. For the life of me I can't come up with three more and I've been working on this off and on all week. I guess when I'm hormonal every song makes me cry, even happy songs. Even jingles.

Lady, I'm right there with you on almost all of those. Another one that makes me cry? "There will come a day" by Faith Hill b/c after 9/11 there was a montage with that song as well. Baled like a baby. Also "These are the days" by 10,000 Maniacs. For no reason and every reason, I cry to that song.

Sigh.

It's nice to have these emotions though. I'd rather cry at songs than be dead inside.

I put the links to my songs tonight - and cried watching every video! But it's not always a bad cry - like you said, not always sad, but emotional. I get it.

Ooh, I love 'These are the days.'

I am having trouble thinking of songs that make me cry. Maybe because there are so many. And maybe because I am TERRIBLE with song names and artists. I can sing the entire song word for word, but can't tell you the name of the song or who sang it. It's an affliction.

Even though I am a boy; "I got the Guns" by Roger Creagar will tear me up more than any other song. I don't think I cry but also the old screen door song by Larry Joe Taylor is a little emotional.

hey, would you like to see the nursery?

After a very productive week/weekend, the nursery is just about done. I think the only thing I want to do is whip up a simple padded headboard and Hubby needs to trim down the legs on a little footstool. That's it! Finally! So without further ado... This is what you see when you walk in the door. Too bad the baby won't be able to appreciate it right away. (And I'll apologize right off the bat for having some wonky-colored photographs in this post. I just don't have the energy to fix things. At least on my monitor, the above pic is roughly true-to-life.) Would you like to see that awesome rug a little better? Man, I love it. It was the one splurge for the room but it has such great colors, fun animals and designs, and is round. All my criteria were met. Love. Here's the corner with the crib.
